GENERAL INFORMATION
Monoethylamine (MEA) is a simple organic compound and primary amine with the chemical formula C₂H₇N or CH₃CH₂NH₂.
It is a colorless liquid or gas with a strong, pungent ammoniacal or fishy
odor.
Monoethylamineis highly flammable and classified as both a corrosive and
irritant.
APPLICATIONS
Monoethylamine is a versatile building block in the chemical industry and is used in the synthesis of various products, such as:
Pharmaceuticals: Precursor for some medications and intermediates.
Agrochemicals: Used in the synthesis of herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides.
Dyes and Surfactants: Serves as an intermediate in the production of dyes and surfactants.
Rubber Chemicals: Helps produce accelerators and stabilizers for rubber manufacturing.
Water Treatment: Used in certain water treatment formulations to neutralize acids or control pH levels.
CONCENTRATION
Monoethylaminesolutions at 65% and 70% concentrations are used in chemical synthesis, gas treatment, and as precursors for ethylamine derivatives.
65% Solution: Commonly used for general applications.
70% Solution: Preferred for processes requiring higher amine content, such as: Producing solvents, manufacturing corrosion inhibitors and Creating emulsifiers.
