Scale Inhibitors
Phophonates, phosphate esters and polyacrylates are the three main types of scale inhibitors used in the oil and gas industry. Phosphonates are used due to their cost-versus performance ratio and are easily formulated by neutralizing to reduce their corrosivity and are easily made into combination (multiuse) products. Phosphate esters, in some lower temperature applications, show better performance than phosphonates. Polyacrylates are very effective where NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) exist and have a high temperature tolerance.
Scale depositions occur with changes in temperature, pressure, pH or incompatible fluids. We carry chemicals to prevent both carbonate and sulfate scales, and products that work on barium and strontium scales. Whether your problem is in the formation, downhole, emulsion lines or surface injection equipment, we can recommend the right product for your treatment. These can include products that can be squeezed, batched and continuously injected.
